Team Jak collaborates closely with NHS staff across Scotland to support children and young people with cancer and their families. We work with a wide range of hospital and community-based health professionals to complement the care you’re already delivering.
Looking for support for your child, family or to refer someone you know? Please get in touch today.
Working Together: We know NHS staff are often the first point of contact for families during some of their most traumatic moments. That’s why we partner with hospital and community-based teams to extend support beyond the clinical setting, offering emotional, social and practical services to meet individual needs.
We also regularly visit oncology wards, bringing our pop-up Jak’s Den activities to help distract and entertain children, create joyful moments, and offer parents a break. These visits are always neutropenic-safe and tailored to the needs of the ward.
Referrals and Signposting: You can refer a family directly to Team Jak for any of our services, including emotional support, music therapy, counselling, or practical help. We also welcome referrals for siblings, friends, and children affected by a parent or close family member’s cancer diagnosis.
Supporting You: We recognise the emotional load carried by healthcare professionals supporting seriously ill children. While our core services are for families, we’re always here to have a conversation, offer advice, or simply be a listening ear. We’re in this together.
If you’d like to connect with the Team Jak team, refer a family, or arrange a ward visit, please get in touch.
