Support Team Jak at School

Fundraising is vital to everything we achieve at Team Jak. And it’s thanks to schools, pupils, teachers and communities like yours that we can consistently deliver our emotionalsocial and practical support to young people facing cancer and related illnesses.

Every pound and penny you raise helps keep our doors open and our services available to families across Scotland. You and your school have the power to make a real difference, whether that’s by running a bake sale, hosting a talent show, walking for Jak, or something brilliant we haven’t even thought of! Whatever you choose, we’ll be right by your side, from start to finish.

School Fundraising Ideas

There are so many fun and creative ways your school can support Team Jak and everyone — students, teachers, support staff, and families — can get involved. We love to celebrate communities coming together to raise money and awareness, from the smallest acts of kindness through to major fundraising events.

Why not explore a few ideas? Here are some to get you started:

Jak’s Den Rocks – Paint Your Own Stone Day
For a small donation, each pupil or student receives a stone to decorate. The stones will be added to our sensory path at Jak’s Den in Livingston, creating a beautiful symbol of community and care.

Dress Down Day
Keep it simple — pupils and teachers each bring £1 to school and in return get to wear their own clothes. An easy way to raise vital funds while having fun.

Sponsored Walk or Walk for Jak
Create your own walking fundraiser and ask for sponsorship. Or join an official one like Kiltwalk!

Bake Sales, Talent Shows, Quiz Nights
Student-led events are a great way to raise money while building skills and confidence. Three tried-and-tested, easy-to-organise winners are selling cakes, hosting a talent contest, or hosting a quiz night.

Football Festival
West Calder High School have for the last three years held a Team Jak Festival of Football which has included various stalls, musical entertainment and food and drink along with the football.

Why not get in touch with us and we can help you set this up or any other challenge you might like to do?

School Spotlight

Inveralmond Community High School

A huge congratulations to the incredible team of five from Inveralmond Community High School in Livingston who delivered a winning presentation at the 2025 Youth and Philanthropy Initiative (YPI).

Thanks to their passion and dedication, Abbie, Sophie, Emily, Poppy, and Paige secured £3,000 for Team Jak from YPI sponsors the Wood Foundation.

“It was an absolute pleasure to support them throughout their journey. They truly embraced the advice they were given and poured their hearts into the cause. Their excitement when they won was contagious — and I was just as thrilled as they were!”
— Margaret King, Team Jak Fundraising Administrator

The team chose to dedicate their prize money to Team Jak’s counselling support service, a cause close to their hearts and vital to the young people we help every day.
